Ann Reid is the founder of the Moving to Mexico Facebook community, now with more than 33,000 members, created in 2015 to provide reliable, experience-based insight about life in Mexico. After relocating to Ajijic, she saw how challenging it was to find clear guidance on everyday living, residency, and practical matters. Her group quickly grew into a respected space where people could learn from real experiences rather than speculation and rumor.
Ann has lived in Mexico as a temporary resident, and now permanent resident, gaining a deep understanding of the day-to-day realities and legal processes involved in making Mexico home. She has lived both in Ajijic and in Ensenada, giving her a well-rounded perspective on regional differences and lifestyles across the country.
Before retiring, Ann practiced as a family law and bankruptcy attorney and worked as a technical writer. These skills allow her to thoughtfully interpret Mexico's legal and administrative systems and explain them in a way that is practical, accurate, and accessible.
Ann contributes her knowledge and lived experience to Mexpro, helping readers better understand what life in Mexico really looks like—beyond checklists and surface-level advice. Mexpro is proud to have an expert like Ann offering clarity, perspective, and guidance to our audience.
